Presenter:

Dr Margie Davenport, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation at the University of Alberta. She is a Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada National New Investigator in Women’s Heart and Brain Health, and Director of the Program for Pregnancy and Postpartum Health (exerciseandpregnancy.ca).  Her research program is pursuing projects to 1) identify mechanisms that underlie cardiovascular dysfunction in complicated pregnancies; 2) determine associations between physical activity and cardiovascular health during pregnancy; and 3) examine the impact of prenatal exercise on blood pressure control during pregnancy (PEACH RCT).
